In 1993 I won an award in the 'Reebok European Sports Photographer of the Year' awards with 'Finish Line Womens 10K Race, Liverpool'. With it came an all expenses paid weekend in London for the prize giving at The Barkley Hotel, Knightsbridge where we stayed. A framed certificate and £200 from the Vice President (Europe) of Reebok. The picture was also featured in a French sports magazine.
A Public Relations firm in Blackpool were running the promotion and rang me to ask if I would be able to attend the opening of the Exhibition in London, I said I would have to let them know
(actually I thought someone was pulling my leg!)
The winner was David Ashdown, chief photographer of The Independent newspaper, he scooped the top prize of £5,000 and Reebok International Trophy
